On the 13th, E-Mart announced that its sales in December of last year were 1.3 trillion won, an increase of 17.5% from 1.12 trillion won in the same period last year. Compared to last month, it increased by 14.8%. Total sales for December, including rental fees, amounted to 1,437.3 billion won, up 14.6% from 1.253.9 billion won in the same period last year. By division, discount stores increased by 10.3% to 1.15 trillion won, compared to 920 billion won in the previous year, and specialty stores increased by 20.2% to 117.4 billion won. Eating out became difficult due to Corona 19 stage 2.5, and it is interpreted by the influence of the increased demand for daily necessities.
The sales growth of Traders, a warehouse-type discount store, was particularly steep. Traders’ sales last month was 287.8 billion won, up 33.8% from 2157 billion won in the same period last year and 26.9% from last month.
