KBO League rules on sports betting are stronger.
KBO also stipulated in Article 148(6) of the Baseball Regulations that’If an act prohibited or restricted by the National Sports Promotion Act, such as illegal sports gambling operation and use, the KBO governor may sanction for cheating.’

The pledge signed by the players in the KBO League stated that’If the pledger violates this, he or she shall be liable for damages and all civil and criminal liability in accordance with various regulations such as its own compensation and punishment regulations, the National Sports Promotion Act, and the Criminal Act’.
Even if it is a gambling that is not related to sports, gambling itself is a strong target of baseball sanctions.
KBO has specified’gambling’ as the reason for disciplinary action in the act of damaging dignity in Chapter 14 of the Baseball Code.
According to KBO regulations, players who gambling will be penalized for more than 50 games with suspension, 5 million won in sanction, and 120 hours of volunteer work for one violation.
Professional baseball was greatly shaken by the match-making incident in 2012.
Doosan’s two young players are known to have nothing to do with matchmaking.
However, as gambling has a high risk of leading to match-making, KBO is taking a tough time with gambling.
If KBO accepts Doosan’s request and designates Jung Hyun-wook and Kwon Ki-young as ineligible players, they will not be allowed to play in professional baseball until the KBO governor lifts the restrictions.
