“The perpetrators of illegal coups have no power to stand up to the legitimate authority of the president of my country.”

Myanmar Ambassador to the United Nations emphasized that he is a legitimate ambassador of Myanmar despite the dismissal of the military.

According to Reuters on the 2nd (local time), Myanmar Ambassador to the United Nations Kyaw Moe Tun sent a letter to UN General Assembly Chairman Volkan Bozkir and US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln, saying, “We remain a permanent representative of the United Nations in Myanmar. I want to confirm to you,” he said.

On the 27th of last month, State TV of Myanmar announced that Ambassador Cho Moe Tun had been fired from the post of UN ambassador for betraying the country.

It is interpreted that the fact that Ambassador Moe Tun made a voice against the coup at the UN General Assembly earlier the day before and gave a’three-finger salute’ used as a symbol of resistance among the people of Myanmar as hatred by the military.

The United States seemed to empower Ambassador Cho Moe Tun. State Department spokesman Ned Price said that day, “I know that Ambassador Cho Moe Tun is staying despite an attempt to appoint a representative by the military,” Reuters said.
