A serious case of school violence occurred in a dormitory-type middle school in Gyeongnam, but a national petition from the parents of the victims was published, demanding a full re-investigation, saying that only a cotton bat was punished for the perpetrator.

Mr. A, who revealed that he was the father of the victim on the 2nd, insisted on the Blue House National Petition bulletin board that “the son was diagnosed with a translocation for 57 days, but the offender was suspended from attendance and was disciplined on the 20th.”

According to Mr. A, the incident occurred last January. The son asked for an apology due to the abuser’s swear words and teasing, and assault by the student began. The son was beaten in the eyes and face with his fist, and while fainting and fell on the floor of the classroom, he was stepped on his face with his feet, and eight teeth were damaged. He has no teeth, so he only eats soft foods such as porridge. He started school with mental sequelae, but his son is still afraid to go to school, A said.

Mr. A said that he did not receive a sincere apology, saying that he tried to solve it well if he received medical expenses and the student transferred to school because the offender also had life. He claimed, “When I received a doctor’s certificate and a document containing future treatment expenses from a university hospital and showed it to the student’s parents, I was only told,’There is nothing that has happened to me legally, so just follow the law’.”

Afterwards, at the Autonomous Committee for Countermeasures against School Violence (academic violence committee), the abused student was disciplined for 20 days of suspension of attendance, and the parents of the abused student conveyed the meaning to the school, saying, “If my child has to transfer to school, send the victim to the school as well.” .

Mr. A said, “I don’t understand the behavior of the perpetrators and parents,” and said, “Please help me to get my son’s resentment resolved so that he can adjust to school again.”

An official from the Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education said, “Currently, the parents of the victims have decided to bring more evidence and request an administrative trial on the results of the school violence.” You can do it in parallel,” he said.
