“I don’t want to be Yoo Seung-jun”:’Military Service Evader’ Seok Hyun-joon’s father gave up the appeal after losing an administrative lawsuit with the Military Manpower Administration and promised to send his son to the army

His father opened his mouth while former national football team Seok Hyun-jun lost an administrative lawsuit with the Military Manpower Administration regarding the fulfillment of military service obligations.

Seok Hyeon-jun’s father, Seok Jong-oh, told Yonhap News on the 16th, “Hyun-jun has no intention of becoming like Yoo Seung-jun. He promised that he will fulfill his military service and live proudly in Korea. “Before his son was thirty-six years old, he will perform his military service.”

Seok Hyun-joon, who played for the national soccer team, was unable to win the medal given to military service in various international competitions. The reason that Seok Hyun-jun was on the Military Manpower Administration’s list of evacuees was because he did not return to Korea at the time of enlistment and signed a long-term player contract in Europe. Recently, he lost in the first trial of an administrative lawsuit against the Military Manpower Administration.

In response, his father, Seok, expressed his intention to abandon the appeal and said, “It happened because of my greed. I apologize.”

Still, he argued that the reason he signed a long-term contract until 2020 when he moved to Porto in 2016 was because a local agent broke his promise. At the time, the issue of military service was anxious, but Seok greeted his son, saying, “I’ll believe in dad and do some more.”

This contract was eventually shackled. In order to serve in the military at the commerce team or the National Police Agency, it was necessary to transfer the domestic team in 2018. However, the ransom of Seok Hyun-jun called by Porto was not at the level the domestic team could afford. Even if this was ignored, the penalty amount to be paid amounted to billions of billions.

Seok said that he plans to return to Korea by the age of thirty-six, which is the upper limit of the age at which he can enlist in the military, with two years remaining on the contract with Troas. Then he said, “Trust me. We have no intention of becoming like Yoo Seung-jun.”
