Shin Hyun-soo, chief executive officer of the Blue House, returns to work on the 22nd, who expressed his appreciation for the conflict over high-ranking prosecutors and left on vacation on the 18th. After four days of deliberation, Chief Shin is planning to reveal his final position on his career after going to work, but it seems that he eventually resigned.

On the 21st, a day before Chief Shin’s work, the Blue House refused to talk about Chief Shin. A senior Cheong Wa Dae official said, “I think Shin will reveal his position on the 22nd,” but said, “There is no other situation or words to convey.” A member of the Democratic Party of the National Assembly’s Legislative and Judicial Committee said, “We are currently waiting for Shin’s final position. There is no other way.” However, it is said that the party administration officials have been working on persuasion through various channels to change Chief Shin’s mind for four days.

However, in his passport, it is believed that Shin has already crossed a bridge that he cannot return. In a phone call with the JoongAng Ilbo, a key passport official said, “I expressed my regret and went on vacation. I don’t understand common sense. Kim Jo-won, former chief executive Min Jeong, also expressed his gratitude and left the Blue House on vacation.” He said, “In the Blue House, the expression’contemplation’ is used, and deliberation is done by the president, who is appointee, not the staff.” Another key passport official also said, “It is correct to see that there is little possibility that Shin will return.”

It is said that Shin expressed his uncomfortable feelings to his acquaintances during the vacation period with the aim of not seeing again with Justice Minister Park Beom-gye, who established a confrontation over the prosecution’s personnel. It is highly likely that Shin will reveal his final position on his move at a private meeting, attended by some of his staff, presided over by President Moon Jae-in on the morning of the 22nd.

A passport official said, “I know that Minister Park explained that he did so because he did not have confidence to persuade him by calling Kim Young-sik, the Blue House legal secretary, shortly after greeting him on the 7th,” .

When Shin finally submits his resignation, it is expected that interest will be drawn as a successor. For a while, there is a possibility that Lee Gwang-cheol, senior secretary in the Civil Administration’s Office, will take over as acting as the agency. The secretary is also mentioned as the next chief civil servant, but President Moon is burdened with suspicion that he was involved in the 2018 Ulsan mayoral election intervention case. Personnel mentioned at the time of the new chief appointment, such as Wang Jeong-hong, former head of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, former Vice Minister of Justice Kim O-su, and Kim In-hoe, a professor at Inha University, are being mentioned as successors again.

There is also a possibility of reorganization of the entire civil jeong chief’s office if Shin resigns from the civil jeong chief. Anti-corruption secretary Lee Myung-shin and legal secretary Kim Young-sik have already expressed their appreciation for the days of Min Jeong-ho Kim Jong-ho, but are still working as the search for a successor has been delayed. However, there was no meeting on personnel affairs at the Blue House on the 21st.

President Moon was the first prosecutor of the current government to select a former chief civilian government prosecutor, and appeared to resolve the conflict between the Blue House and the prosecution. However, if Chief Shin resigns, the window of communication with the prosecutors will be narrowed, and there is a possibility that conflict with the prosecutors will rise again.
