This is a statement from Korean women’s short track signboard Shim Seok-hee to the reporters through her agency after winning the 1500m championship.
This year’s first short track competition held at the Uijeongbu indoor ice rink.
Chairman Shim Seok-hee is the first day of the Korean men’s and women’s short track speed skating competition,
Won the women’s general 1,500m final with an 808 record of 2 minutes and 24 seconds.
The championship was dramatic. In fact, Shim Suk-hee once fell to 5th place.

Choi Min-jung was bumped and pushed in the process of digging inside, leaving two laps behind.
However, Shim Suk-hee did not give up and speeded up.
They made a big turn outward, beating each player, and eventually passed the finish line for the second time.
The first day it seemed to end in second place
Choi Min-jung, who came in first place, was disqualified, leading to the championship.
“Minjung Choi left five laps in contact with another player on the straight course,
When I changed lanes from the inner course to the outer course with two laps left, there was another contact and I was penalized.”
This is the reason why Minjung Choi was disqualified, as stated by the judges of the Korea Ice Skating Federation.

“I play the game in almost 3 months, and the ice rink has been closed several times.
It hasn’t been a long time since the domestic tournament, so I lost my sense of the game.”
It has been about 4 months since the end of November last year that the short track competition has been held in Korea.
Because of Corona 19, domestic competitions could not be held normally.
As the Korea Ice Skating Federation decided to absent from this year’s World Championships, athletes had a hard time finding a sense of realism.
After Choi Min-jung’s disqualification, the ranking has changed
Shim Seok-hee ranked 1st, Kim A-rang, 2 minutes and 24 seconds, 897, and Hwang Hyun-seon, 2 minutes and 24 seconds, 993.
In the Men’s General Division 1500m, Kyung-Hwan Hong won the championship with a record of 2 minutes 32 seconds 533.
Kwak Yoon-gi took 2nd place with 2 minutes 32 seconds 671, and Lim Yong-jin took 3rd place with 2 minutes 32 seconds 752.
Shim Seok-hee, who won the gold medal on the first day, will again challenge the championship by playing a 1000m game at the Uijeongbu indoor ice rink tomorrow.
