The Volleyball Association is investigating a report that a volleyball person who worked as a volleyball team manager in Dongnae-jung Busan 10 years ago used violence against the players at the time.

The Hankook Ilbo reported on the 1st that 2nd and 3rd grade players who were active in the volleyball club in Dongnaejung in 2008 were exposed to assault and sexual violence by coach Kim Mo. Former manager Kim, who was in charge of the unemployment team until recently, resigned last year.

According to reports, Mr. A said, “(Director Kim) forced circumcision and laid it in one room as a group. At that time, the shame still shakes his hand.” It is said that a player who had a girlfriend was openly asked for sex.

The players said that it is a routine that suits former manager Kim. Mr. B said, “(Director Kim) frequently hit the face with a fist, and he was hit enough to bleed from his mouth and shake his teeth.”

It is said that there were frequent sadistic behaviors such as forcibly feeding food. The smaller players were forced to eat the side dishes, rice, and soup left by their colleagues in one bowl because they had to gain weight.

Victims claimed that former coach Kim was extortion at the time. In particular, it is said that he asked for money from the main players, saying that they had to lobby the referee before participating in the national youth sports competition.

Former manager Kim’s actions continued in the unemployment team. In July of last year, a former volleyball player belonging to the Busan City Sports Association exposed Kim’s violent remarks, forcing him to drink alcohol, and embezzling training expenses. The Busan City Sports Association suspended the duties of former coach Kim when the controversy ended, and a new coach was appointed this year.

The newspaper said that former director Kim did not respond to inquiries regarding allegations of violence. In this regard, the Volleyball Association said that it is “under investigation.”
