KORAIL service from February 1st
Can be purchased even if you are not a rail member
In the future, train reservations will be available on Naver and Kakao.
KORAIL announced on the 31st that it will expand the train ticket reservation service that has been provided through the mobile app’Korail Talk’ to’Naver’,’Naver Map’ and’Kakao T’apps.
Naver or Kakao T members can purchase tickets directly from the app even if they are not railroad members or do not have Korail Talk. However, train reservations for the Lunar New Year holidays starting on the 11th were not included in this service because they were already on the KORAIL website. SRT was also excluded from this service.
If you tap the’Train Inquiry/Reserve’ tab added to the Naver Map app, you can search and reserve train timetables. In the Naver search window, you can use the same function with keywords such as station names, train timetables, and train reservations. Information provided through Naver is KTX, Saemaul, Mugunghwa, ITX-Youth, and tourist trains operated by KORAIL. The synergy effect with functions such as Naver’s’Smart Around’ is also expected. If Seoul users plan a trip to Busan, they can search for restaurants of their taste and even book trains at once. You can also get on the train by ordering food in advance by smart ordering at a restaurant near the station.
Kakao provides a train reservation service through’Kakao T Train’ within the Kakao T app. You can reserve a ticket by accessing the new train menu on the first screen of the Kakao T app. Even if you don’t know the station or route information, you can get recommendations for the best railroad route based on your departure/arrival location. Tickets issued can be checked in the service menu. The Kakao T train service has an advantage in connection with Kakao Talk. You can go to the ticket reservation screen of the Kakao T app through the’Korail Notification Talk’ channel on Kakao Talk. The company is also preparing a service to reserve tickets directly from KakaoTalk. Based on the big data and real-time traffic information built in Kakao Navi, it provides the estimated time required between the departure point and the train station. In addition, it provides public transportation information and a Kakao Talk notification that allows you to call a Kakao T taxi so that it is not late for the train departure time.
