The power of the people who ran for the 4/7 Busan mayor’s by-election, Park Hyung-joon, the preliminary candidate Park Hyung-joon, was found to be ahead of the Democratic Party candidates in a virtual confrontation.

As a result of a survey by Korea Research on 805 men and women over the age of 18 residing in Busan on the 8th and 9th at MBC’s request, Park surpassed Democratic candidates by more than 10 percentage points.

Candidate Park greatly outpaced Candidate Kim (28.9%) with 46.3% in the bilateral confrontation with former Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Young-chun of the Democratic Party. All age groups, excluding those in their 40s, showed high support for Park.

Democratic Party Byeon Seong-wan, the former mayor of Busan, widened a wider gap. Candidate Kim was 48.1% and candidate Byun 25.5%.

Assuming that former lawmaker Lee Eon-ju will be the candidate in the power of the people, the results were tight within the margin of error. In the virtual confrontation between Candidate Lee and Candidate Young-Chun Kim, 35.6% and 34.7%, respectively. The virtual confrontation between Candidate Lee (34.8%) and Candidate Seong-Wan Byun (29.3%) was also within the margin of error.

When asked about the suitability of the pan-passport candidate, Kim Young-chun was 21.9%, Byun Seong-wan 9.4%, and Park In-young, former Busan City Council Chairman 3.4%, in that order. In terms of suitability for pan-opposition candidates, Hyung-jun Park 35.6%, Eon-ju Lee 10.6%, former Vice Mayor Park Sung-hoon of Busan 6.2%, and former lawmaker Park Min-sik 5.2%.
