According to Hyundai Motor Company on the 15th, Ioniq 5, which applied E-GMP, a platform exclusively for electric vehicles, not only increased the use of indoor space with an optimized space design, but also has a differentiated interior design by adding the theme of’living space’ for all occupants.

One of the features of the IONIQ 5 is the flat floor (flat floor) due to the disappearance of the indoor tunnel, which was the structural limitation of the internal combustion locomotive.

In addition, an electronic shifting lever (SBW) was placed around the steering wheel, and the console’Universal Island’ that can move back and forth and a slim cockpit (dashboard component module in the driver’s seat) were applied to allow various use of the interior space.

The first-row driver’s seat with legrests and the relaxation comfort seats in the passenger’s seat reduce fatigue for occupants by adjusting the angle of the backrest and cushion, and provide an environment where passengers can relax comfortably when parked or stopped.

In addition, Hyundai Motor Company emphasized the sustainability of mobility by applying eco-friendly materials and eco-friendly construction methods inside the Ioniq 5.

Some of the leather seats and door armrests were made of crushed and processed recycled transparent PET bottles, and the door, dashboard, ceiling and floor were made of biomaterials extracted from sugar cane.

Vegetable oil extracted from flax seeds was used to dye the seat leather. In particular, bio-paints using vegetable oils extracted from rape flowers and corn were applied to parts that the hand could reach, such as the steering wheel and switches.

Hyundai Motor Company plans to strengthen its eco-friendly brand image by expanding the application of eco-friendly materials and construction methods to the upcoming Ionic models.

A Hyundai Motor Company official said, “Ioniq 5, which improves the utilization of indoor space and applies sustainable eco-friendly materials and construction methods, will provide customers with a new experience of electrification.”
