The Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 23rd that it has set the brand name of a new super-fast electric vehicle charging station as’E-pit’.

Hyundai Motor Group explained that it designed an E-pit charging station inspired by Motorsport Racing’s Pit stop. Hyundai Motor Company aims to become a pit stop for electric vehicles through’E-pit’, and plans to evolve into a charging platform that makes customers’ daily lives and time meaningful by providing all services related to charging quickly and easily.

The E-pit charging station is capable of charging 800V high voltage. It can charge from 0 to 80% in about 18 minutes. If you charge the Hyundai Motor Company’s electric vehicle Ioniq 5, which is capable of high-voltage charging, at this charging station for 5 minutes, it can drive at least 100km.

The E-pit charging station has a payment system similar to the Tesla supercharger. It features a’Plug & Charge’ function that enables authentication, charging, and payment at once without any separate manipulation. In order to prevent disputes among waiters when the’E-pit’ charging station is full, the convenience of waiting customers has also been improved by applying the’Digital Queue’ service, an app issuing system for waiting tickets.
