[M오토데일리 박상우 기자] Hyundai Motor Company has completed the emission and noise certification from the Ministry of Environment for the first dedicated pure electric vehicle Ioniq 5.

According to the Transportation Environment Research Institute under the Ministry of Environment on the 4th, Hyundai Motor Company completed the emission and noise certification of the Ioniq 5’s cruise-type RWD 19-inch model and the cruise-type RWD 20-inch model.

Hyundai Motor Company has completed the certification of the Ioniq 5 by the Ministry of Environment, but it is known that the official mileage certification work is still in progress. Hyundai Motor Company revealed that the maximum driving distance of the Ioniq 5 per charge is 410-430 km (the result of Hyundai Motor Research Institute measured by the domestic authentication method).

Hyundai Motor Company has been conducting a pre-contract with Ioniq 5 from the 25th of last month.

Ionic 5 is operated in two models, a long range with a 72.6 kWh battery and a standard with a 58.0 kWh battery, and currently only accepts a pre-contract for the long range.

The long range consists of two trims, exclusive and prestige, and the exclusive price is expected to be between 52 million won and 52.5 million won, and the prestige between 57 million and 57.5 million won. This is about 15 million won lower than the Tesla Model Y long range, which is 6999 million won.

As a result, Ioniq 5 can receive 100% subsidy for the purchase of electric vehicles. Starting this year, the government will exclude 100% of subsidy if the sum of individual consumption tax and education tax is less than 60 million won, 50% of subsidy if it exceeds 60 million won and less than 90 million won, and 50% of subsidy if it exceeds 90 million won.

Since Ionic 5 has a selling price of 60 million won or less, even if you add optional items, you can receive 100% of the purchase subsidy. In addition, it is expected that if you receive subsidies from local governments, you will be able to purchase them in the upper 30 million won level in Seoul.

For this reason, Ioniq 5 recorded 28,000 units, exceeding the domestic sales target of 26,000 units this year, after two days of pre-contracting.

Hyundai Motor Company is notifying customers that the number of reserved units has already exceeded the number of units that can be supplied this year, so that vehicles contracted in the future can be shipped after next year.

Hyundai Motor Company plans to begin mass production of the Ioniq 5 at its Ulsan plant from this month, and India plans to proceed sequentially in Europe, Korea, the United States, and other regions. The delivery period for Korea is expected to be in early April.
