Hyundai Ioniq 5’It is an electric car, and it reads as a peanut house’

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the pure electric car’Ioniq 5′.

The model that Hyundai Motor Company put electricity into the car was the Avante Hybrid, which was ambitious 15 years ago.

The engine, battery, and electric motor were put in one car, and electricity assisted the engine. It started with a hybrid that draws energy from the engine and charges it when the battery runs out.

And in 2021, finally, a solid electric vehicle was born. Beyond driving through electric charging, you use the electricity to charge your smartphone and use a hair dryer. By making a V2L outlet for home appliances, literally, a’small peanut house’ was born.

The size of the peanut house is 4635x1890x1695mm in length x width x height. It is about a slightly larger body than the existing Hyundai Tucson’s 4630x1865x1665mm, but it secured a wider interior space by increasing the distance between the front and rear wheels.

At the same time, it also solved the problem of electric vehicles, which requires long batteries to be laid on the body floor. So, the newly created frame is E-GMP. The wheelbase that determines the interior space reaches a whopping 3000mm. Tucson (2755mm) is of course longer than the large SUV Palisade (2900mm).

The end of Hyundai’s electric vehicle idea was also an electric peanut house. The will to provide a mini office by increasing the width of the driver’s seat back and forth shines. You can push the driver’s seat back more to put the laptop in front of your chest to type, and if you sit in the back seat, you can push the front seat forward and work comfortably at the table. It moves about 14cm.

Also, the moving center console’Universal Island’ serves as a great table. A high-speed smartphone wireless charging system of 15W level was also available. The tray structure divided up and down also creates an office atmosphere. Reporters who have to use a laptop in a hurry are bound to get high marks.

As it is an electric peanut house, you can lie down comfortably and have a sleep. Legrests were also made for the first-row driver’s and passenger’s relaxation comfort seats. It is my first experience to lie down in front of you like a so-called weightless sheet. The two-row electric sliding seat also moves forward 135mm.

Like Volvo, the sheet thickness has also been reduced by 30%. Like a mid-engine Ferrari, opening the front bonnet also reveals a small trunk. It is very interesting.

The V2L function provides 3.6kW of power consumption, which is slightly higher than that used in general homes, and this is the power that a family of four can use for four days on a single charge, the company explained. If you need electricity while camping outdoors or in remote areas, you can go to the city center for a while and charge it.

It can charge 80% of the battery capacity within 18 minutes with 350kW super-fast charging. With a 5-minute charge, it can travel up to 100 km (based on European certification WLTP). This is thanks to the world’s first application of the 400V/800V multi-fast charging system.
