Hyundai Motor Company’s first electric car’Ioniq 5’will be unveiled for the first time in the world on the 23rd.
Hyundai Motor Company will unveil Ioniq 5 for the first time in the world through Hyundai Motor Group’s official YouTube channel at 4 PM.
Ioniq 5 is the first model of Hyundai Motor’s electric car brand’Ioniq’ and the first electric car based on the self-developed electric vehicle platform’E-GMP’. With a single charge, it can drive up to 500km (based on WLTP) and can be charged up to 80% in 18 minutes by applying the 800V charging system.
The exterior is applied with’parametric pixels’, which is a key design element of the Ioniq brand.
Parametric pixels are the differentiated design elements of IONIQ 5, designed by embodying pixels, the smallest unit that composes an image. It contains the meaning of passing through generations by fusion of analog and digital. This pixel design is known to be used in headlamps, taillights and wheels.

In the case of indoors, E-GMP is applied, and the indoor tunnel part, which was the structural limitation of the internal combustion locomotive, can be eliminated.
In addition, an electronic shift lever was placed around the steering wheel to eliminate the gear bar. In addition, the use of the interior space was improved by applying the console’Universal Island’ that can move back and forth and the slim cockpit (dashboard part module in the driver’s seat).
Eco-friendly materials and eco-friendly construction methods were also used. According to Hyundai Motor Company, some leather seats and door armrests are made of crushed and processed recycled transparent plastic bottles. Bio-materials extracted from sugar cane were used for the doors, dashboard, ceiling and floor.
Ioniq 5 is expected to be released in Korea as early as April. Hyundai Motor Company will sequentially launch Ioniq 5 in the Korean and American markets starting with Europe at the end of next month.
Hyundai Motor Company declared this year the first year of the electric vehicle leap forward. Hyundai Motor Company plans to accelerate the expansion of its electric car lineup starting with the launch of the Ioniq 5.
