It was revealed that the black box video containing the assault scene of a taxi driver by the Vice Minister of Justice Lee Yong-gu was covered by the police officer in charge. Hwang Unha, a former policeman and Democratic Party member, interpreted that “the investigator in charge may have determined that it is not necessary to watch the video.”

Rep. Hwang said in a radio interview on the 26th, “The victim, the taxi driver, reported that the customer caught a fatal and reported that he did not want to be punished because it was agreed.” I can judge that there is no.”

Regarding the part that the investigator said to the taxi driver, “I will not see (the video),” Rep. Hwang insisted that “we have to look at the post-war context.” Regardless of whether the taxi driver submitted the black box video, the investigator in charge concluded that the case was a simple assault, and if so, he guessed that it would mean that there was no need to watch the video.

He also saw that it is unlikely that the police’supervisor’ intervened in this case. When predicting based on the experience of the front-line police chief, it is customary to deal with the case by the team leader or manager if it is not important to the investigator in charge.

Rep. Hwang said, “The police are a huge organization of 130,000. Big and small mistakes can continue to come out,” he said. “It is not a matter that will leap into the question of how to entrust the police to investigate each time.”

Vice Minister Lee Yong-gu assaulted a taxi driver who tried to awaken himself from being drunk at an apartment in Seocho-gu, Seoul at around 11:30 pm on November 6 last year, but he was not arrested. Police said there was no black box video to prove Lee’s crime, and the victim did not want punishment, and applied the charges of general assault to close the case.

However, it turned out that the investigator Seocho-seo did not report the video even after checking the video, so the police began an investigation. The prosecution, who is investigating the case, is expected to summon the investigator in charge soon. It is reported that the summons of this vice minister is also under consideration.
