Reporter Ahn Kyung-nam = Hwang Hee-chan (25), a striker of German professional football Bundesliga RB Leipzig, finally stayed on the team.

The transfer of Hwang Hee-chan, who promoted the lease while the European transfer market was closed on the 1st of local time, was finally misfired.

It seems that director Julian Nagelsmann recently announced that he would not send Hwang Hee-chan, and Hwang Hee-chan also decided to stay through a meeting.

With this, Hwang Hee-chan, who pursued a rental transfer in the transfer market this winter, continued to play for Leipzig.

Hwang Hee-chan, who was active in Salzburg, Austria and wore a Leipzig uniform last summer, only played in nine games, including seven regular league games in the 2020-2021 season.

In the first round of Fokal of the German Football Association (DFB), which was the debut stage, he started off happily, scoring one goal and one help, but he was seldom able to establish his starting position in the Bundesliga.

In November of last year, after participating in the national football team’s expedition to Austria, he was diagnosed with a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) and left for nearly two months.

Hwang Hee-chan played with Dortmund as a substitute in the 15th round of the league earlier last month, but was given a short opportunity to play as a substitute resource, so he pursued a loan transfer.

In fact, Bundesliga Mainz and English Premier League (EPL) West Ham United showed interest.

However, director Nagelsmann opposed Hwang Hee-chan’s lease. There was not enough opportunity to properly check Hwang Hee-chan’s skills this season, and he was in a position that he could not spend it in the absence of appropriate alternative resources.

Eventually, Hwang Hee-chan decided to stay through an interview with the director, and there was no rental transfer.

However, that does not guarantee that Hwang Hee-chan’s time will increase. You have to prove your skills for the rest of the season.

Leipzig will play the DFB Focal 16-finals against Bochum at 2:30 am on the 4th. In addition, on the 17th of this month along with the regular league, Liverpool (England) and the European Football Federation (UEFA) Champions League Round of 16 1st leg is ahead.

The tight schedule is a good thing for Hwang Hee-chan. If the rotation width increases, the chances of Hwang Hee-chan’s catch also increase.

In fact, Liverpool is also the opponent of Hwang Hee-chan’s presence in Salzburg.
