The battle between the voracious’Hulk’ and the veteran of war ended with Hulk’s first stroke victory. Bryson Dishambo (28, USA), a’strong long hitter’, performed a hot long hit show and climbed to the top of the PGA Tour Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Final 4th round of the tournament held at Bayhill Club & Lodge (par 72) in Orlando, Florida, USA on the 8th (Korean time). DeChambo hit 1 under par 71 with 2 birdies and 1 bogie. DeChambo, with a final total of 11 under par 277, beat second place Lee Westwood (48, England) by one stroke. The winning prize is $1674,000 (about 1.89 billion won). After conquering the US Open, a major tournament in September last year, it added a multiplier in six months and achieved a total of 8th win.

DeChambo, who started the’Bulk Up’ project in the fall of 2019 and transformed into a giant, brought out the cheers of golf fans by holding a long hitting show over the lake in this tournament. Hole 6 (par 5) has a huge lake, so it usually turns to the right, but DeChambo took an adventure across the lake in the 3rd and 4th rounds. The official distance for hole 6 is 555 yards, but in round 3 it is set at 531 yards and in round 4 it is set at 565 yards.

On this day, DeChambo hit 377 yards in this hole. The distance the ball flew was 320 yards. The tee shot crossed the lake and stopped in a fairway bunker 88 yards from the pin. DeChambo couldn’t put the second shot on the green, but he put the third shot 1m away from the hole and took a birdie lightly.

DeChambo, who started with a tie for second place with Westwood, who was the lead the day before, was tied for the lead with this birdie, and came to the fore thanks to Westwood’s bogey on hole 7 (par 3). DeChambo marched in par in the second half, but Westwood was also unable to reduce the number of strokes and won the championship. After making a 1.5m par putt in the last 18th hole (par 4), they clasped their fists and cheered.

48-year-old old Westwood lost one stroke with two birdies and three bogies, and had to be satisfied with the runner-up. Westwood, who has been active mainly on European tours, is a veteran who has won 42 victories in his career in Europe, Asian tours, and South Africa tours. Unlike DeChambo, Westwood, who chose the strategy of spinning in the sixth hole, took a tee shot and then raised his arms and took a joyful pose. It was the action that DeChambo took the day before after crossing the lake.

Corey Connors (USA) ranked third at the 8-under par, and Jordan Spice (USA) tied for fourth at the 6-under par. Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) finished in a tie for 10th place (3 under par). McIlroy plunges the ball twice in the sixth hole. Lim Seong-jae (23) lost 4 strokes, tied for 21st place (1 under par), and Ahn Byeong-hoon (30) tied for 43rd place (3 over par).
