Broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon was confused by a photo of a Myanmar sister. This is the picture of the nuns who kneeled in front of the Myanmar armed police and blocked the shooting with their bare bodies, making the hearts of those who watched them eaten.

On the 3rd, Hong Seok-cheo posted a post on his Instagram beginning with “Myanmar, which resembles our old story too much.”

“We also remember crying and appealing for help all over the world at that time.

How scary it is. How frustrating it will be. How desperate is it? I pray what kind of power I can add to the bloodshed struggle of the Myanmar people to protect democracy. Please protect them,” he prayed for the Myanmar protesters.

The photo released together is one of the photos known to the international community by Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, the chairman of the Myanmar Bishops’ Church and the Archdiocese of Yangon, on his Twitter account on the 28th of last month (local time). Among the photos that captured the urgent situation in Myanmar, it was a photo that struck the hearts of people around the world.

The photo shows a nun kneeling in front of an armed Myanmar military policeman. While the Myanmar military police are trying to crack down on the anti-coup protesters, the nun eagerly pleads not to shoot.

The protagonist in the photo is Sister An Nu Taung from the Convent of Saint Francis Saberio, located in Michina, a northern city in Myanmar. Cardinal Bo wrote with the photo, “Sister Nu Tahung is begging civilians not to shoot at civilians protesting for freedom and human rights.”

After witnessing this, the nun went to the street with her bare body, knelt and cried, and it is known that the police also put down the gun for a while at her courage.

In an article about Sister Nu Taung’s courageous actions on the 1st day, Vatican journalist Rosserbatore Romano said that the nun shouted “Don’t shoot, don’t kill innocent people. Shoot me rather.”
