Hong Nam-ki “I will play more next year for a quick and strong economic rebound”

Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Ministry of Strategy and Finance, said in a New Year’s greeting on the 31st that he will provide all policy support for quarantine prevention and overcoming the damage so that we can return to our daily life before the coronavirus.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong suggested four issues that the economic team will be struggling with next year, saying that this year, the Korean people burned a spark of hope even though they suffered a hard time due to the corona pandemic.

First, Prime Minister Hong said that he would quickly implement customized damage support measures announced at the end of last year to overcome the Corona 19 crisis.

In addition, the government promised to achieve a faster and stronger economic rebound in order to create a 3.2% growth rate and 150,000 jobs through a V-shaped recovery next year.

To this end, he emphasized that he would actively implement a 110 trillion won investment project for public-company-private companies and secure export transactions. At the same time, he said he would focus on creating high-quality private jobs for young people.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said that the current corona crisis could also be an opportunity for convenience, and that he would prepare for the future to increase the potential growth path.

He added that it is necessary to prepare in advance for the Korean economy, food for future generations, growth engines, structural changes, etc., and added that the innovative growth BIG3 industry, the Korean version of the New Deal, and policy tasks to create an eco-friendly green society will be promoted at a pace.

Finally, Deputy Prime Minister Hong said that he will manage the risk factors that will rise unexpectedly as in this year, and that he will manage real estate, household debt, trade issues, and population issues more carefully.
