Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki and Minister of Strategy and Finance said on the 8th, “Following last week’s real estate countermeasures, the key to ensuring stability in the real estate market is the key.”

Deputy Prime Minister Hong made this announcement at a meeting presided over an extended executive meeting held in the form of video conferencing at the Government Complex Sejong on the afternoon.

Earlier, the government announced measures to stabilize the real estate market last week by announcing the ‘830,000 housing supply measures in the metropolitan area’. Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “At the Noksil meeting to be held on the 9th and next week’s meeting of related ministers for real estate market inspection, we need to comprehensively inspect the supply of 8.4 measures, the progress of supply of measures to 11.16, and follow-up measures of the supply of 2.4 measures.

He emphasized, “We will reinforce the government’s strong will to stabilize the real estate market, such as drastic expansion of housing supply, high-intensity response to real estate speculation and illegality, and stability of real estate market sentiment, and will respond with the highest priority.”

Deputy Prime Minister Hong also responded to the unstable prices of confectionery products such as eggs, apples and pears ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, saying, “Work with relevant ministries and agencies to respond to additional imports, supply of stockpiles, early shipments, and crackdown on disruption of distribution order under the quota. He also mentioned the response to the employment shock caused by prolonged distancing quarantine. Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “January-February employment index is expected to be difficult,” he said. “The government should accelerate the hiring of 830,000 direct jobs, 26,000 employment of public institutions, and prepare additional employment measures for young people and women in the first quarter.” said.

In addition, he said, “We need to carefully check the execution situation of the damage support measures for KRW 9.3 trillion and speed up the execution,” he said. “Please check and review additional support for the affected class and reinforcement support for blind spots.”

Meanwhile, prior to the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Hong held a ceremony of encouragement and awards to employees who created excellent performance in connection with the selection of the Ministry of Information and Transportation as an excellent ministry in the 2020 government work evaluation.
