According to the Ministry of Finance on the 25th, this meeting is the first meeting of the Finance Ministers held by Italy, the G20 presidency this year, with the Finance Ministers and Central Bank governors, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the World Bank (WB). Representatives from international organizations such as this one attend.

In this meeting, discussions will be conducted focusing on the urgent core tasks among the priorities of the G20 agreed at the last G20 Vice Ministers Meeting.

The main subject of discussion is the direction of policy coordination for inclusive economic recovery, such as overcoming the new coronavirus infectious disease (Corona 19) crisis, responding to economic structure transformation such as digitalization, and supporting vulnerable countries. There will also be discussions on improving the stability of the financial system and sustainable finance.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong emphasized the role of the G20 in preventing the spread of the recent financial market instability and the importance of sustainable finance for responding to climate change, emphasizing inclusive economic recovery such as equitable distribution of vaccines, resolving the digital gap, and supporting vulnerable countries. Is expected.

Bank of Korea Governor Lee Ju-yeol, who is attending the meeting, plans to exchange opinions on major agendas such as global economic outlook, global policy coordination plan after Corona 19, and financial issues.

Meanwhile, this year’s G20 is scheduled to hold four meetings of finance ministers and one summit meeting, including the first meeting of finance ministers.
