However, as the controversy continued, Hong Jin-young said on Instagram, “The parts that were passed without problems at the time are now judged by only a few percent. Also, I thought it was the part I was responsible for, and now I think it was clothes that didn’t suit me.” He said, “I will return my master’s and doctoral degrees,” and apologized, saying, “All of this is my failure and my fault.”

Afterwards, in December of last year, the Chosun University Graduate School held a final deliberation on Jinyoung Hong’s thesis and degree. As a result of the deliberation, the Graduate School Committee said, “Thesis was finalized as plagiarism.”

Regarding the plagiarism controversy, Hong Jin-young posted a handwritten apology on his Instagram on December 18 last year, and said, “The thesis plagiarism article broke out on the day of his comeback with a new song.” I was so scared and confessed that I was in a hurry to rationalize it in such a way that’the professor said there was no problem’ and’I can’t even teach with a degree’. “If I return my degree, I thought I would just pass it over or forgive me, so I used the expression’customary’.” I will do it.”
