It was belatedly known that singer Hong Jin-young donated 30 million won to those who are suffering from the spread of Corona 19.
Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced on the 22nd that “Hong Jin-young donated 30 million won in donation.” It is reported that this donation took place on the 16th, before the intention of reflecting on the plagiarism of the recent thesis. Hong Jin-young donated through his agency at the time and said, “I hope it will be used to overcome Corona 19.”
Hong Jin-young obtained his master’s and doctorate degrees in trade from the Graduate School of Chosun University in 2009 and 2013, but was controversial over plagiarism. Chosun University announced that after deliberation, it had tentatively concluded that Hong Jin-young’s thesis was plagiarized.
In his handwritten apology on the 18th, Hong Jin-young said, “I know that it is already very late and cannot be reversed. But even now, I sincerely apologize and ask for forgiveness.” I wasn’t mature and I wasn’t adult. I was wrong.”
Meanwhile, Jinyoung Hong has continued to do good deeds. In January, we also donated 5,000 masks to overcome Corona 19, donated 50 million won worth to Gangwon forest fire victims in April last year, and donated 100 million won to low-income students at the end of last year.
