Hem-chan (real name Kim Hem-chan), a member of the idol group BAP, who was handed over to trial for sexual harassment, was sentenced to imprisonment at the first trial.

On the 24th, Judge Jeong Seong-wan, the deputy chief judge of the Seoul Central District Court 14, sentenced him to 10 months in prison and ordered him to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program on the 24th. However, the court did not arrest the court, saying, “We will give the victim an opportunity to make an effort to be forgiven.”

In July 2018, Himchan is accused of sexually harassing a woman in her twenties at a pension in Joan-myeon, Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. At the report of Mr. Dang A, the police were dispatched to the scene, and Himchan, who was being investigated by the police, was prosecuted without custody in April 2019.

Hem-chan denied the charges, saying,’There were mutual favors and implied consent’ during the trial, but the court did not accept the charges.

The judge pointed out that “according to the evidence investigated, the victim’s statement is sufficiently reliable,” and pointed out that the crime was not good and the victims were not forgiven. However, he said that he took into account the sentencing in consideration of the lack of criminal penalties.
