The state of emergency has been declared statewide as flood damage from heavy rains continues in Hawaii, USA.

According to CNN on the 10th (local time), Hawaii Governor David Ige declared an emergency after heavy rains raised concerns about floods, landslides, and dam collapse. In addition, thousands of local residents who had been damaged by the increased water were evacuated in an emergency.

Governor Ige said, “The declaration of the barrage has allowed us to use the state’s general funds,” he said. “We will move quickly to help those affected by the heavy rain.”

He added, “Because the heavy rain is expected to continue until the 12th, we will keep the flood warning as it is.”

In Hawaii, where the worst rains fell in 25 years, about 340 mm of water bombs were poured out between 7 am and 3 pm on the 8th.

The heavy rains have destroyed bridges and roads throughout the state of Hawaii and damaged numerous homes. In Maui County, when the Kaupakalua Dam, built in 1885, flooded and fears of collapse emerged, residents in the downstream area were ordered to evacuate.

According to Reuters, a 27-year-old man disappeared on the 9th due to the sudden swollen water, but no casualties have occurred so far.

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blanc Giardy told the residents in a non-face-to-face speech on the 9th that “the orders we are giving are not spontaneous.” Asked.
