Hanwha Q CELLS achieves No. 1 market share in the US residential and commercial solar module market

Hanwha Q CELLS in the solar solution division of Hanwha Solutions achieved the No. 1 market share in the US residential and commercial solar module market in the third quarter of this year.

According to a survey released by Wood Mackenzie, a global energy consulting organization, on the 23rd, Hanwha Q CELLS recorded 27.4% share in the US residential solar module market in the third quarter, ranking first for the 9th consecutive quarter.

In the US commercial photovoltaic module market, it maintained the No. 1 position for the fourth consecutive quarter with a market share of 22.2% in the third quarter.

Despite the aftermath of Corona 19, residential solar installations in the U.S. in the third quarter were similar to the previous year. According to the Wood McKinsey report, the market size in the third quarter of this year was about 738MW, similar to the market size in the third quarter of last year.

It was investigated that the total amount of installation has rather increased. Bloomberg New Energy Finance, a specialized market research firm, also revealed that the number of residential solar installations in the US until July this year increased by 21% compared to the same period last year (January-July).

In January of this year, Hanwha Q CELLS established a vision to become a’total energy solution company’, and then sold solar power solution business that combines photovoltaic power and energy storage (ESS), solar power plant development business, and direct electricity to consumers. It is promoting the electricity sales business. In August, it is also preparing to enter the distributed energy solution market by acquiring US energy software company’Growing Energy Labs (GELI)’.
