Hanwha Eagles starts spring camp for the 2021 season from the 1st.

Internal development process, no participation in the rookie 1st camp
Training in the 1st Geoje and 2nd World War from February 1st

On the afternoon of January 31st, the Hanwha Team set off for a spring camp site of Geoje, Gyeongnam, with a total of 55 people including 14 coaching staff and 41 athletes. The three foreign athletes who are self-isolation in Okcheon, Chungcheongbuk-do will join the spring camp from the afternoon of February 1.

The training will be conducted on a schedule of ‘4 days training, 1 day rest’, and during the first camp period, coach Carlos Subero will directly communicate with the players by separating the squad into morning and afternoon groups. The concentration was minimized to help understand not only skills but also individual dispositions.

Hanwha excluded newcomers who joined in 2021 from this camp. Through discussions with coach Subero and coach Choi Won-ho Futures (2nd Army), strategy team, and management team, it was determined that it would be more efficient for new players to go through the process of fostering through Futures training rather than face a rapid environmental change. Entry into the 1st group is planned to proceed gradually according to the fostering process.

After digesting 132.2 innings last year, pitcher Jang Si-hwan, who underwent surgery to remove bone fragments from his elbow, was also excluded from the first group camp. Si-Hwan Jang, along with his dedicated training coach, will digest a separate program in Geoje and will be fully dedicated to rehabilitation in time for the opening.

The 2nd camp will be held from February 16th to March 1st at Hanwha Life Insurance Eagles Park in Daejeon, and it is planned to conduct comprehensive team play training and understanding of home stadium conditions of coach Subero and other foreign coaching staff.
