Hanmi Pharm revealed that 356 employees participated in the blood donation campaign of love held on January 25-27. Employees of Hanmi Pharmaceutical Group rolled up their arms to collect blood, which is having difficulty in supply and demand due to the prolonged Corona 19.

This year’s blood donation campaign was conducted in accordance with the guidelines for strict quarantine measures according to the Corona 19 situation. Each participant carried out the entire process from interview, blood collection, and blood donation, and minimized personal contact, such as having one person enter for each blood donation bus of the Korean Red Cross that has been disinfected and quarantined.

In particular, it was conducted at a sufficient interval of 20 minutes or more per person, and guided them to participate in blood donation after checking the health status of applicants for blood donation based on the results of the corona self-diagnosis app for employees.

The blood donation campaign was held at four sites, including the Pyeongtaek Bio Plant, Sepa Plant, Dongtan Research Center, Hwaseong Paltan Plant, and the headquarters. This blood donation was conducted only to employees who applied through pre-application, and 356 of the total 410 pre-applicants participated, recording a participation rate of 87%. This is the largest number of blood donation campaigns in the first half of the past 41 years.

The’Blood Donation Campaign of Love’ continues year after year with the participation of the late founder Seong-ki Lim in the opening of the’Blood Donation House’ at City Hall Station in Seoul Subway Line 2 in November 1980. Up to now, the campaign has collected 2,79,120 cc of blood.

Hanmi Pharm has been conducting blood donation campaigns in time for the opening ceremony in early January. This event is being expanded to 4 times.

Meanwhile, there is a shortage of blood supply nationwide due to Corona 19. According to the Korean Red Cross, the number of blood donors last year was 2,614,000, down 17,9691 from 2019. The amount of blood retained has also decreased. As of December 2020, the amount of blood retained has decreased to 2.7 days (at the caution stage), which is less than the appropriate information flow (5 days).
