Hana Financial Group announced that it will strengthen its shareholder return policy from the second half of this year.

Hana Financial Group achieved its record-high performance last year, but according to the recommendations of the financial authorities, it paid dividends within 20% of its net profit.

Hwa Seung Lee, Executive Vice President of Finance, Hana Financial Group, said in a conference call to announce the results on the 5th, “Please understand that the dividend has decreased compared to the good results.” The dividend payout ratio was reduced by taking into consideration the recommendations of the financial authorities in a complex manner.

The board of directors of Hana Financial Group decided on 1350 won as a dividend per share on this day, but when the intermediate dividend is added, it is 1850 won, and the payout ratio is 20%, the level recommended by the financial authorities.

The annual consolidated net income announced by Hana Financial Group is KRW 2.637.2 trillion, the largest since the launch of the holding company. It increased by 245.7 billion won (10.3%) from the previous year.

Managing Director Lee emphasized that “the crisis continues, and there are potential risks due to liquidity supply and deferment of interest payments,” he said.

He promised, “We will continue to increase shareholder value through shareholder return policies such as intermediate dividends and ending dividends.” Hana Financial Group has been making interim dividends every year since 2005.

On the same day, Hana Finance also disclosed the size of loans that correspond to the loan principal and interest repayment deferral measures by the financial authorities.

Managing Director Lee said, “The loan amount is 250 billion won, and the corresponding collateral ratio reaches 88-90%, so I think the possibility of actual asset insolvency is extremely low.”
