The power of the people The results of a public opinion poll came out on the 25th that Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon is ahead of the Democratic Party candidate Park Young-seon by more than 20 percentage points (p).

On this day, Hangil Research received a request from Maeil Economic Daily and MBN, and surveyed 859 Seoul citizens aged 18 and over on the 22nd to 23rd, and found that candidate Oh was 46.3%.

Park’s approval rating was 25.3%, and the gap between the two candidates was found to be 21%p. It is outside the margin of error (±3.3%p at the 95% confidence level).

By age group, Candidate Oh surpassed Candidate Park in all age groups. In particular, the gap exceeded 50%p, with candidate Oh 65.6% and candidate Park 15.2% in their 60s or older.

In their 50s, candidate Oh was 46.9% and candidate Park was 30.5%. Even in their 40s, who are considered the main supporters of the Democratic Party, Oh’s approval rating was higher with 40.6% of Oh and 33.7% of Park.

In their 30s, candidate Oh 34.2% and candidate Park 32.8% were the only gaps within the margin of error. In their twenties, candidate Oh supported 34.7%, and candidate Park supported 20.3%.

In Seoul, the party support rate was 39.3% of the people’s power and 20.9% of the Democratic Party.

As a factor influencing the decision of candidates, 23.9% of the respondents cited’policy and municipal administration ability’, followed by’National Affairs Judge’ (20.7%).

However, it is possible that the results of this poll was affected by the unification of opposition candidates. This is because the period during which the investigation was conducted coincides with the period announced after a public opinion poll was conducted to unify candidates between Candidate Oh and Candidate Ahn Cheol-soo of the National Assembly.
