Prosecutor Han said that he filed a lawsuit for damages against Chairman Yoo in the Seoul Central District Court on the same day. The litigation amount is 500 million won.

One of the prosecutors’ side said, “From September 2019 to December 2020, Chairman Yoo repeatedly disseminated false facts despite the official denials of a prosecutor several times, and such fake news was spread indefinitely through social media.”
“By Chairman Yoo, Prosecutor Han was unfairly stigmatized as a public official who illegally used public authority for private retaliation,” he added. “Chairman Yoo admitted that it was a false fact only after he was asked to provide evidence from the media and civil society.”
In January, Chairman Yoo said, “I politely apologize to all officials of the prosecution for raising suspicion that the prosecution would have inspected me by filing suspicion, not fact.”
One of the prosecutors said, “Is Mr. Yoo alone in creating fake news, or if someone provided false information to take advantage of Mr. Yoo’s influence, such as a false KBS report against a prosecutor? You have to reveal yourself about one case.”
In this regard, the solidarity of action to set the rule of law right, in August last year, accused Chairman Yoo of defamation and leaking secrets for public service.
The prosecutor’s office said that the criminal case of spreading false information against Chairman Yoo has already been accused by another person and is in progress.
