In POSCO, nine people have died in the past six months.

“(Employees) was doing CPR. I loaded it on a stretcher and transported it to an ambulance right away. I think he was a little hurt.

The basic principle that equipment must be shut down when performing maintenance work has not been adhered to this time.

In the past six months, nine workers have died at the POSCO Pohang Works and Gwangyang Works.

In February, one person was killed by being caught by a conveyor belt at the raw material dock of the Pohang Works, and a crash occurred in December of last year.

Because of this, the Ministry of Labor has been conducting special labor supervision for the Pohang Works since last month, and an accident occurred again.

It is less than a month since the National Assembly held an industrial accident hearing after a series of serious disasters at a specific workplace.

“In essence, the system itself (of the steel mill) is not able to stop working, or parts that don’t work in a running facility.”

POSCO Chemical issued an apology in the name of the CEO and said, “We will take all measures to prevent the accident from recurring.”
