The Volleyball Association announced on the 15th that “Chairman Oh Han-nam and others had a working-level meeting on this issue, and a decision was made to disqualify Lee Jae-young and Lee Da-young from the national team indefinitely.”
Lee Jae-young and Lee Da-young were known to have committed school violence when they were in middle school, and they caused a stir. Heungkuk Life Insurance’s club imposed its own disciplinary action on this day, saying,’Indefinitely suspending the competition’, and further, the association decided to deprive the national team indefinitely.
The Korean Volleyball Association considered this issue very heavy, and boldly decided to punish the national team indefinitely. An official from one club expressed a surprise that “the association gave a stronger discipline than expected, faster than expected.”
In the meantime, it is just Hyun-soo Jang who has permanently disqualified the national team even in all other professional sports. Jang Hyun-soo was punished by the Korea Football Association for permanent deprivation of the national team after it was revealed that he had falsified documents on the details of volunteer service activities for special military service in 2018.
An official from the Volleyball Association said, “If we do not take strong measures against the current school violence case, we have judged that it is difficult to prevent the recurrence of similar cases. Considering the seriousness of the case, the perpetrator will be excluded from the selection process for all future conventions.” Emphasized.

An official of the association emphasized, “We will continue to strive to establish a healthy volleyball culture by responding strongly to school violence in the future.”
