[에너지신문] Korea Gas Safety Corporation President Hae-jong Lim emphasized bold innovation in safety management and promoted hydrogen economy with a sense of speed in the new year’s speech, which was broadcasted online on the 4th.

President Lim Hae-jong pointed out that gas accidents in the underdeveloped country, such as negligent handling of facilities, continue to be 83%, compared to 577 cases in 1995, which was the highest in history with 98 gas accidents last year.

Therefore, he stressed that drastic changes and innovations that break away from the existing paradigm are necessary for a higher level of gas safety management.

To this end, by converting regulatory-centered pipe-led safety management to a supplier-centered autonomous safety management system, suppliers are in charge of practical safety management activities for demand facilities, and the government establishes a new safety management model that manages and supports private activities. He said it should be introduced.

In addition, in preparation for the era of the digital new deal, the entire inspection process will be improved centering on non-face-to-face online, and it will further accelerate the development of smart safety management technologies incorporating the fourth industry.

In addition, President Hae-Jong Lim said that in order to lead the global hydrogen economy, we must not miss the leadership of the hydrogen economy through rapid promotion.

In order to support the implementation of the hydrogen economy and reinforce the role of a hydrogen safety agency, the company announced plans to expand the hydrogen safety management organization and concentrate resources such as manpower and budget.

To this end, as of January 1, the’Hydrogen Safety Center’, which was previously operated as a two-team system, was reorganized into the’Hydrogen Safety Technology Institute’ to expand and reinforce the five-part system for each field of hydrogen safety management. With early deployment, more than 80 people can perform hydrogen safety tasks.

President Lim Hae-jong urged him to make every effort to create tangible results through rapid implementation and monitoring of the hydrogen economy roadmap and comprehensive measures for hydrogen safety management.

In addition, at the New Year’s speech that day, President Lim Hae-jong emphasized sound organizational management and responsible leadership.
