Kim Ha-seong (26), who signed with Major League San Diego Padres, returned to Korea on the 2nd.

Kim Ha-sung’s agency, ASPEC CORPORATION, said on the SNS that “Kim Ha-sung finished all the contracts with San Diego and entered Korea through Incheon Airport.”

ASPEC CORPORATION said, “Ha-sung Kim, who has moved to the designated location, will thoroughly observe the government’s guidelines for the next two weeks to complete self-isolation safely and digest personal schedules.”

Ha-seong Kim signed a contract with San Diego on the 1st for up to $39 million for 4+1 years, becoming the 23rd Korean major leaguer ever.

Ha-seong Kim, a young age in her mid-20s, was able to handle various positions in the infield and even had offensive power, and thus received attention from several major league teams.

In preparation for the 2021 season, San Diego has focused on strengthening its power such as Kim Ha-seong this winter, Darvish You, and Blake Snell. San Diego is considered the winner of this year.

Competition is expected to be fierce as the power is solid. In San Diego, shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., and third baseman Manny Machado are all in the air. Ha-seong Kim is expected to compete with prospect Jake Cronenworth for second base.
