Gyeongsilryeon ‘85% of public housing supplied by the Wen government is fake or fake’

It has been argued that 85% of public housing provided by the Moon Jae-in administration is a’fake/fake’ public housing that cannot solve the housing anxiety of the common people. Most of the public housing increased by the current government is cheonsei rental, which only supports cheonsei deposit, or 10-year rental with a relatively short rental period, and happy housing.

On the 25th, Gyeongsilryeon held a press conference at the Gyeongsilryeon auditorium in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and released data that analyzed the inventory status of public rental housing disclosed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport by type and government. Statistics from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport were used, as well as the housing affairs manual, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s responses secured through information disclosure requests.

As a result, as of the end of 2016 to the end of 2019, the number of public housing units increased over the three years of the Moon Jae-in administration was about 328,000. Among them, chartered leases that only support deposits increased the most to 100,000 units (30.5%). It was found that the 10-year leases converted to sales after 10 years increased by 65,000 units (19.8%), and the rental period was only 6-10 years, and the number of happy houses with high rent increased by 61,000 units (18.6%).

In addition, Gyeongsilryeon accused public housing of the purchase and rental method as’fake’. According to Gyeongsilyeon’s claim, purchase rental is operated at 30-90% of the market price and 6-20 years of rental period, but buying a house during a period of soaring house prices is an unnecessary waste of budget. Such purchase rental public housing also increased by 54,000 units (16.5%).

On the other hand, it was found that only 14.6% of the long-term public housing, which claims to be’real public housing’, is a’real public housing’ such as permanent, 50 years, public rental, and long-term jeonse. In particular, only 33,000 units (10.1%) of national leases that are permanently held by the public and can be rented for 30 years were outstanding. Permanent leases increased by 10,000 units and 50-year rentals increased by 4,000 units.

On the other hand, it was found that the Lee Myung-bak administration was the one that supplied the most long-term public housing by government. Long-term public housing was the largest with 300,000 units. In terms of project approval criteria, the Roh Moo-hyun administration was the largest with 470,000 national rental units.

On the day, Kyungshilryeon said, “The ratio of public housing in Korea is very low compared to 75% in Singapore and 33% in Northern European countries.” “The public should develop the maintenance and supply the public housing by owning the land for long-term lease.”
