Gyeonggi-do 2nd disaster basic income de facto confirmed, “Payment target before the New Year holidays”

Gyeonggi Province has virtually decided on a plan to pay 100,000 won of basic disaster income to all citizens. Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong will officially announce the payment of basic disaster income early next week.

Gyeonggi Province spokesman Kim Hong-guk said on the 16th <오마이뉴스>He said, “The plan to pay all residents’ disaster basic income before the Lunar New Year holiday has been virtually confirmed.”

As soon as the last-minute coordination work is completed, Gyeonggi Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong will directly announce the plan to pay basic disaster income on the 18th or 19th. The second basic disaster income is expected to be paid 100,000 won per resident, as in the first period. An additional budget of 1.4 trillion won is expected to be created to provide basic income.

When the plan is finalized, Gyeonggi-do will submit an additional budget to the provincial council. It is expected that Gyeonggi-do will not owe additional basic disaster income, but will be covered by the Regional Development Fund, the Integrated Financial Stabilization Fund, the Disaster Management Fund, and the Disaster Relief Fund.

Gyeonggi-do aims to provide payment in early February, before the Lunar New Year holiday. Considering the quarantine situation and the effect of encouraging consumption, it is calculated that payment before the Lunar New Year holidays will be the most effective. Payment methods are being reviewed with local currency cards and credit card point payments.

In this regard, Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myeong said on his Facebook page on the 15th, “If a bold fiscal expenditure policy is premised, an appropriate combination of disaster support policies such as screening and universal is possible.” That’s it, so it is desirable to aim for the two-stone effect of income support and economic revitalization for the fourth round.”

Earlier, on the 11th, the Gyeonggi-do council officially proposed to Gyeonggi-do to pay the second basic disaster income. Gyeonggi-do Council Chairman Jang Hyeon-guk and Provincial Council Chairman Park Geun-cheol said at a press conference on the day, “I propose to Gyeonggi Province the support of the second basic disaster income so that it can achieve the effect of 1 stone and 3 trillions such as enhancing consumer sentiment, strengthening alley commercial areas, and preventing psychological quarantine.” Revealed.
