The mother of the first corona 19 mutant virus infected person in Gyeongbuk was also confirmed, causing an emergency to the quarantine authorities.
According to North Gyeongsang Province on the 1st, A, a woman in her 30s who entered Incheon Airport from Dubai, UAE on the 12th of last month, was tested at the Gumi Health Center and was positive on the 14th.
On the 27th of the same month, Mr. A, who was being treated at the Life Therapy Center, received a notification from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that he was infected with a mutant virus from South Africa.
Unfortunately, Mr. A’s mother, Mr. B, was confirmed by Corona 19 on the 29th of the same month in a test he received after visiting for hospitalization on the 27th of last month, the day when his daughter was notified of the mutant virus.
The quarantine authorities confirmed that they were infected with a mutant virus from South Africa around 6 pm on the same day while investigating the association of the infection route.
The quarantine authorities self-quaranted 8 of 13 people living alone, including hospital officials who had contacted Mr. B, and quarantined the remaining 5 in recreational forests in Gumi.
In addition, in the epidemiological investigation, samples of 24 contacts with overlapping movement lines with Mr. B have been tested, and the results of the tests are released in the morning of the 2nd.
An official from North Gyeongsang Province said, “There are several confirmed cases of mutant virus in the region, so we are focusing on quarantine to block additional infections. Fortunately, all of the contacts of the mothers and daughters confirmed so far, so there is no concern of further infection.” said.
