On the 28th, the city of Gwangju gave an ultimatum to the Antioch Church and members of the Antioch Church, where 39 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) occurred, saying, “Take the corona 19 diagnostic test by 10 pm.”

According to the city, as of 5 p.m. that day, about 40 church members are not following the city’s recommendation to undergo corona 19 testing.

The quarantine authorities set up a temporary screening clinic in Antioch Church in Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju this morning, but many members of the church showed a non-cooperative attitude.

Some members of the congregation have even pointed or ranted at the medical staff.

Kim Jong-hyo, vice mayor of the administration, held an emergency briefing this afternoon, saying, “There are 240 specimens who have been directly verified by the quarantine authorities.” It is confirmed that,” he said.

“For 40 unsampled subjects, we are making individual contact so that they can be tested during the day,” he said. “Shindos who want to be sampled should be tested at the Seo-gu health center by 10 pm today.”

He warned, “The city has made it mandatory for the church to submit a list of members who have completed the inspection, and those who have not tested it until today will take strong legal measures, such as forcibly securing the list through an administrative order.”

Meanwhile, according to the Antioch Church, the total number of members is 700-800, and the number of people who attended the service last weekend was 553. Considering the 150 people who attended the 5th service on this day, about 400 members are subject to the total inspection.

The number of confirmed patients was added on this day, with a total of 39, and the church has an administrative order to ban meetings for two weeks until February 7.
