[아시아경제 박종일 기자] Gwangjin-gu (Gu Mayor Kim Seon-gap) establishes a comprehensive countermeasure against coronavirus in 2021 to increase the incidence of group infections in the metropolitan area and to block the spread of additional infections due to New Year’s meetings, etc.
Strengthening response to Corona 19 through reorganization of the Disaster Safety Countermeasure Headquarters
First of all, the district reorganized the Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters for efficient and practical infectious disease prevention and quarantine work, realizing division of duties by organization.
Accordingly, a general situation room in the ward office and a medical quarantine situation room in the public health center are additionally operated, and two managers are appointed separately.
In addition, a Welfare Facility Officer and Welfare Facility Management Team will be newly established to prevent group infection of vulnerable facilities such as welfare and nursing facilities.
In addition, according to the introduction of the vaccine, a new vaccine response team will be organized to identify targets for vaccination in the region and prepare vaccination methods in advance.
Total power to block family infections and welfare facilities group infections
Looking at the distribution by infection route in Gwangjin-gu now (as of January 20th), infections between families account for the largest proportion at 32.8%.
Accordingly, Gwangjin-gu strengthens the life defense of each individual in the home. The plan is to recommend a preemptive examination for one person who has a lot of social activities in the family.
In addition, it was requested to refrain from wearing masks, using personal plates, ventilation, and disinfecting common spaces and items among families, and refraining from family gatherings and moving between regions in preparation for New Year’s Day.
Along with this, preemptive inspections are continuously conducted to block the spread of infections from family members of workers to infections in residents’ facilities in welfare and nursing facilities.
The city mandated that each facility worker must carry out a preemptive inspection upon return to vacation, and to keep self-isolation at home until the results are obtained.
Promotion of new quarantine business for Corona 19 in 2021
Following last year, Gwangjin-gu will reinforce a meticulous infectious disease management system such as efficient screening clinics, quarantine supplies, and quarantine disinfection to protect the lives and safety of residents.
In line with this, a smart quarantine system will be operated, such as a smart eco-heat and cold wave shelter that can measure fever and a clean walk at the entrance to the ward office building.
In addition, to prevent infection in the bus, non-contact automatic hand sanitizers were installed on all 38 village buses, and 1,140 hand sanitizers for refills were distributed to transport companies.
In order to relieve Corona Blue, the city provides indoor cultivation vegetable kits to elderly people with low incomes and mobility difficulties, and promotes the’Sleek Homet Living’ project that rents home training items after individual exercise counseling for residents.

In addition, differentiated new projects will be implemented, such as distributing transparent masks for the hearing impaired, providing complaint rooms, and quarantine at public parking lots.
Kim Seon-gap, head of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Over the past year, our district has maintained a very low number of coronavirus cases compared to other autonomous districts in Seoul as a result of devoted efforts with heavy responsibility to protect the lives and daily lives of residents in the unprecedented crisis caused by Corona 19. “This is thanks to the fact that 350,000 residents actively participated in the quarantine policy in Gwangjin-gu even in a difficult situation where they had to stop their daily lives.”
He said, “I will do my best to create a safer and healthier Gwangjin by reinforcing the existing quarantine system, putting the life and safety of the residents first this year.”
