A situation is revealed one after another that A (48), who was found to be the mother of a 3-year-old girl found dead in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is making a false statement during the investigation.

According to the Gumi Police Station in Gyeongsangbuk-do on the 24th, it was investigated that Mr. A was searching for a way to give birth alone with a mobile phone in 2018, when childbirth is imminent. It is noteworthy because it is a situation contrary to Mr. A’s assertion, denying the fact of his childbirth.

A police official said, “I can’t tell you what the exact search term is, but I checked the record of A’s search for how to give birth to a baby alone.” Based on this, the police are investigating the possibility that Mr. A gave birth alone in a place other than the hospital. Along with this, we are investigating the situation in which Mr. A wears clothes of larger dimensions than usual.

In this regard, the police have sent investigators to about 100 obstetrics and gynecology departments in Daegu and Gyeongbuk to investigate whether Mr. A received medical treatment in a voice manner. Until now, information related to A’s childbirth has not been obtained from people around Mr. A or hospitals.

Separately, it was found that Mr. A changed his words in the last DNA test while the police conducted a gene (DNA) test on Mr. A three times. This is also included in the context that Mr. A continues to make false statements.

When the police inspected the dead child’s body and Mr. A’s DNA twice to confirm that the two were mother-daughter, and arrested Mr. A, Mr. A asked the police to collect and test his DNA once more. In this process, Mr. A said that he would do a DNA test again and admit that he was born if the same result was found. However, when the test results came out the same as before, Mr. A changed words and continued to deny his allegations.

Currently, even if the same result is found in the fourth DNA test commissioned by the Daegu District Prosecutor’s Office, the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office for Scientific Investigation, Mr. A is likely to continue denying the fact of his birth.

Meanwhile, the police are focusing on finding the father of the deceased child by interrogating the man around Mr. A, who communicated with Mr. A 3 to 5 years ago. The police conducted tests on those men who were subject to the possibility of becoming paternal, and who agreed to collect DNA. Among them, a courier is also included.

The police are also looking for the whereabouts of the disappeared child, as it appears that Mr. A swapped the child of the deceased child and the daughter of Mr. B (22).

Previously, the police arrested Mr. B on charges of leaving the girl in an empty house and letting him move and killing him, and Mr. A on charges of attempting to replace the baby and abandon the body, respectively, and sent it to the prosecution.
