The police investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl who died alone in a villa in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is planning to close the investigation without solving the questions raised so far. The police are scheduled to send the case to the prosecution on the 17th, but various questions raised so far are still in a labyrinth.
This case is different from general child abuse cases and has attracted nationwide attention due to the unscrupulous crime of the suspects, but the police have insisted on the principle of closed investigation from the beginning until now.
According to the Gumi Police Station on the 16th, the whereabouts of the disappearing daughter of Seok’s daughter, Kim Mo (22), are still in the dark.
Six days have passed since the girl’s mother who died on the 10th was originally identified as Seok, not Kim, but the police still have not confirmed the life or death of Kim’s daughter.
The police believe that Suk swapped her daughter and her granddaughter, but only the hospital and birth report of the girl Kim gave birth to have been confirmed so far.
The deceased girl, the daughter of Mr. Suk, did not have a birth record, so he searched for helpers or private midwives who helped Suk’s childbirth, but even this did not get much results.
Suk’s father is also not confirmed. In order to find the father of the girl who died, he did a DNA test on the men around Seok, but he failed and conducted extensive investigations on the people around him, but he still does not know who the father was.
In addition, Seok, despite the police’s intensive investigation, is still denying the facts of childbirth and pregnancy, revealing the limits of investigations that relied only on confession.
The police mobilized three profilers and even a lie detector investigation to confess Mr. Suk, but Mr. Suk reiterated his previous position.
As such, the police believe that Seok has denied pregnancy and childbirth and replaced the child, but when Seok denied it, the investigation was not proceeded anymore and the investigation was to be completed on the date of the prosecution’s repatriation.
The DNA test revealed that the mother of the girl who died was Mr. Seok, but the questions raised so far have not been resolved at all. When the situation came to pass, some pointed out that the police did not conduct a public investigation and conducted a thorough private investigation, so that it was not possible to obtain clues or various reports in time. The police have not responded to the reasons for not conducting a public investigation.
There are also claims that Seok has questioned the results of the DNA test while denying the fact of his birth. However, the National Institute for Scientific Investigation is in a position that the probability of error is practically close to zero. According to the National Institute for Scientific Investigation, the probability of a paternity relationship between Seok, who is his mother, and a girl who died is more than 99.9999%. The police conducted this DNA investigation four times on the national fruit tree. Although Seok denies the results of the genetic test, it is highly likely that the results will be adopted as evidence in future trials. It is common for courts to cite virtually 100% of genetic test results. However, as the police cannot prove that Kim’s daughter and child are swapped, there are concerns about whether it is possible to maintain a prosecution on charges of weakening a minor.
