According to YG Entertainment on the 26th, Black Pink received a handwritten letter from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the ceremony for the appointment of a public relations ambassador for the United Nations General Assembly on Climate Change held at the British Embassy in Seoul on the 25th.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson requested that the United Kingdom join the United Kingdom, which will serve as the chairman of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, to raise awareness of climate change globally.

Climate change is the most important issue for our generation,” said Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who called in a personal letter in the name of each member of Black Pink. It would be very welcome to speak up on such an important issue at this point in time.”

“The first step is to study climate change ourselves,” Black Pink said. “Climate change affects all of us, so we need to know what’s going on. We want to learn more, and our fans, too. I hope you will join us together.”

The video mentioned in the letter was produced by Black Pink with the British Embassy in Korea and was introduced at the Climate Ambition Summit 2020 held in December last year. The online meetings co-hosted by the United Kingdom, the United Nations and France were attended by world leaders, including Prime Minister Boris Johnson, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and President Moon Jae-in.

Through the video, Black Pink mentioned the necessity of preserving the rapidly disappearing natural habitats of the Earth, raising awareness of climate change and encouraging the protection of the natural environment. He also emphasized the importance of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, hosted by the UK in November.
