In two days, more than 40 confirmed patients came out at a nursing hospital in Incheon, where employees first tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
Incheon city announced on the 3rd that all 97 people, including 41 confirmed cases related to a nursing hospital in Gyeyang-gu, had been tested positive for the new Corona 19.
Among these, 51 confirmed cases related to group infection in the region, and 38 were contacts with existing confirmed cases. The path of infection of the remaining eight people is under investigation.
At a nursing hospital in Gyeyang-gu, where a group infection occurred, the number of confirmed cases increased to 48, with 41 additional positive tests performed after 7 employees including a nursing care guard and a nursing assistant were confirmed the day before. Of these, 28 residents, 17 employees, and 3 others.
All of the hospital staff were confirmed to have been tested negative for Corona 19 on the 24th of last month.
The hospital, which occupies the first to third floors of a 10-story building, has 113 beds in 36 rooms. The hospital initially had a total of 147 people, including 75 employees and 72 residents.
The quarantine authorities are quarantining the entire hospital in the same group (cohort) and transferring the confirmed patients to a dedicated hospital and life treatment center in turn.
There were also cases of small group infections. One additional person who was in self-quarantine in connection with a food processing business in Jung-gu, Incheon, was positive, and the cumulative confirmed number increased to 35.
In relation to a religious facility in Namdong-gu, three people were tested positive, and there were 31 confirmed cases.
Regarding the religious facility in Bupyeong-gu, where the first confirmed case occurred on the 25th, three people who were self-isolation were positive, and the number of related confirmed cases was counted as 25.
In another case of group infection, a day and night protection center in West-gu, three were confirmed, and the number of related infections increased to 14.
There were 39 new cases in Gyeyang-gu, 18 in Seo-gu, 14 in Bupyeong-gu, 9 in Namdong-gu, 7 in Michuhol-gu, 5 in Yeonsu-gu, 4 in Jung-gu, and 1 in Dong-gu.
As of the afternoon of the previous day, 37 out of 48 dedicated treatment beds for severely ill patients in Incheon city were used, showing an operation rate of 77.1%.
The number of hospital beds dedicated to infectious diseases in Incheon is using 240 out of 417, and the utilization rate was identified as 57.6%.
As of this day, the cumulative corona 19 confirmed in Incheon area is 3,111.
