With the vaccination of Pfizer’s novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) starting next month at vaccination centers nationwide for those aged 75 or older, the government is reviewing various measures for the convenience of vaccination for the elderly and others with limited mobility.

In a back briefing on the 24th, Hong Jeong-ik, head of the vaccination planning team of the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, said, “Currently, we are investigating whether or not people over 75 are consenting to vaccination.” We are also considering how to get you to.”

Senior citizens aged 75 or older will receive Pfizer vaccine at a separate vaccination center from next month. The government plans to establish a total of 254 vaccination centers by July, including central (1), regional (3), and regional (250) units. First, 162 units will be installed and operated by next month.

The government is taking measures to prevent being left out of vaccination even when it is difficult to use a vehicle due to an old age or an underlying disease, and even when living in an area with limited traffic. Team leader Hong explained, “We are trying to figure out the size of those who want to get vaccinated, but can’t go.” “It does not take much time to devise a countermeasure against this, but the options vary depending on the size, so we are waiting for the results of the vaccination consent rate and the environment in which the local government is investigating. The countermeasures can be tailored.”
