[골닷컴] Written by: Yong-Hoon Lee/Editor: Hyun-min Kim = Heung-min Son challenges Fulham at dawn on the 14th (Korean time) to challenge 100 of his personal career Premier League (PL) attack points (goals + help). So far, I analyzed the performance of Son Heung-min as a record.

Since joining Tottenham in the 2015/16 season, Son Heung-min has recorded 99 attack points in his career at PL. In detail, with 65 goals and 34 assists, it can be said that it showed evenly active scoring opportunities as well as direct scoring. Son Heung-min, who has already made a record of’Living Legends’ as an Asian player, but establishing 100 PL attack points for the first time as an Asian player will be another monument.

Even if we look at the club’s history, only six players have achieved 100 attack points in the PL for Tottenham. Harry Kane (184), Teddy Sheringham (141), Robbie Keane (115), Christian Eriksen (113), Jermaine Defoe (110), and Darren Anderson (102) are the main characters. In other words, if Son Heung-min earns 100 attack points, it is the seventh in the club’s history.

Excluding the first season of joining Tottenham (four goals and one help), Son Heung-min has been playing steadily, recording more than 18 attack points every season. In his debut season, he suffered from lack of involvement in the goal for 14 consecutive games, but since last season, the number of games that have not been involved in goal has never been more than four consecutive games. This season, he has played in 16 games, scoring 12 goals and 5 assists.

Son Heung-min PL Seasonal Attack Points

Harry Kane was the best partner with Son Heung-min. He and Kane have jointly made 33 goals, of which 13 goals have been jointly made this season. This is also the record for the most goals joint tie record in a single season in PL history. Even in the past, the two PL’s total joint goals (33 goals) are ranked second after Chelsea legend Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard joint 36 goals.

After Kane, Dele Ali (15 goals) and Ericsen (12 goals) were the most collaborative teammates with Son Heung-min. The joint goal with these three players accounts for 60.6% (60/99) of Son Heung-min’s attack points, so you can feel the power of the’DESK’ line once again.

The opponent Son Heung-min was strongest for was Southampton. He played in 10 games and was involved in 11 goals (8 goals and 3 assists), and the 4 goals scored in the confrontation last September was the record of Son Heung-min’s most attacking points in one PL game. Conversely, the only opponents who have not raised a single attack point in the games he has played so far are West Brom (7 games) and Sunderland (4 games).

This is his first appearance against the promoted team Fulham. If you accumulate offensive points in Fulham, you will rise to the top of 100 attack points and at the same time become a player who scored attack points against 18 of the current PL 20 teams excluding West Brom.

Tottenham and Fulham’s 2020/21 season PL Round 17 will be held at 5:15 am KST on the 14th at Hotspur Stadium. Let’s watch with interest whether Son Heung-min can set a new big record through this match.
