On the morning of the 8th, the government held the ‘2nd Innovative Growth BIG3 Meeting’ presided by Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki and Minister of Strategy and Finance at the Government Complex in Seoul on the morning of the 8th, and discussed the agenda of the’BIG3 Industry Focused Tasks’ that contained the above. ◆ Subsidy ‘0’ for EVs over 90 million won… Fuel subsidies paid to commercial hydrogen vehicles

In addition, in order to reduce the price of electric vehicles and foster popular popular models, the standard of subsidy support for each price range was decided to be differentiated. Vehicles with a price of more than 90 million won are not provided with subsidies, and 50% of the calculated amount is provided for 60 to 90 million won, and the full amount is provided for less than 60 million won.
Electric buses and electric taxis and trucks increase the supply. The number of electric buses, currently 650, will increase to 1,000, and the subsidy for electric taxis will be raised to a maximum of 10 million won to support the expansion of supply. In addition, the amount of electric trucks supported by high market demand and mainly used by small self-employed and small business owners will increase from 13,000 to 25,000.
Fuel subsidies will be provided to hydrogen buses, hydrogen taxis and freight cars in accordance with the hydrogen vehicle supply roadmap. Currently, the government is providing oil price subsidies to buses, taxis, and trucks, so the intention is to expand this to commercial hydrogen vehicles. Subsidies are paid as much as the difference in fuel cost between hydrogen vehicles and existing vehicles, and the subsidy unit price based on hydrogen buses is 3,500 won per kilogram.
In the case of electric vehicle subsidy guidelines, the government will issue an administrative notice by the 19th of this month, and on the 21st, the guidelines will be finalized and announced at a supply policy briefing session for the industry and local governments. In addition, by February, the Passenger Vehicle and Freight Vehicle Transportation Business Act will be amended to prepare the basis for the payment of fuel subsidies for commercial vehicles.
◆ Creating a fabless infrastructure… Semiconductor design SW support throughout Pangyo
System Semiconductor, which will lead the 4th Industrial Revolution, has decided to focus on building an industrial ecosystem centered on fabless. System semiconductors are divided into’fabless’, a semiconductor design and development company, and’foundry’, which consigns semiconductors based on design.

To this end, the government decided to provide free expensive semiconductor design automation (EDA) equipment essential for system semiconductor development throughout Pangyo, where about 70-80% of domestic fablesses are concentrated. Currently, it can be used only at the System Semiconductor Design Support Center, but in the future, the target of support will be expanded to the Pangyo System Semiconductor Innovation Cluster.
In addition, a support program will be prepared that allows domestic fablesses to use expensive semiconductor design assets (IP) for free or at low prices. Fabless companies can use IP for free until finished product design, and benefits are enhanced by receiving IP at a special price through global collaboration.
In addition, cost support will be strengthened so that fablesses can use domestic and foreign foundries without burden in response to the global foundry shortage. Last year, the budget was set at 1.5 billion won (15 cases per year), but this year it will be expanded to 2.5 billion won (25 cases per year). In addition, for the expansion of new foundries, it is seeking investment support measures using the New Deal Fund and policy finance.
◆ By 2025, 7 medical device companies with sales exceeding 50 billion won → 15 expansion
The government also decided to systematically grow the medical device market, which has a poor localization rate. The goal is to increase the number of innovative medical device companies with sales exceeding 50 billion won from 7 last year to 15 by 2025, and to increase the medical device trade balance from 37.9% in 2019 to 40.8% in 2025.
To this end, the government decided to establish a’customized training-K platform’ to establish an institutional foundation to support product development in all stages, such as product licensing → accumulating product clinical basis → improving medical skills → product promotion and sales. The grand prize is a strategic item with marketability and innovation, and will be jointly selected by the training-K platform operating institution and the Medical Society.
