GION succeeds in developing its own antiviral filter

[아시아경제 이민지 기자] Geoen announced on the 23rd that it has independently developed an antiviral filter that can respond to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

The virus blocking performance of the antiviral filter was verified through an experiment in the Department of Biology Lab at Sogang University last month. The virus used in this experiment is a highly toxic virus, also known as HIV, which causes AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) as a lentivirus.

The experiment was conducted over a total of 7 rounds. After making 1 mL of the maximum concentrated virus solution into an aerosol state using a mist sprayer, the virus in the collected solution infects cells by passing it through an antiviral filter at a rate of 50% or more faster than the rate that a person breathes through a mask. An experiment was conducted to measure the degree to which it was made.

An official from Geoen said, “In the case of the control experiment without an antiviral filter, a large amount of lentivirus was found, but after passing the filter, the virus was hardly detected, and similar experimental results were obtained in all 7 experiments. The blocking performance was found to be 98.6%,” he said. “The reliability of this experiment is more than 99.9%.”

As a result of requesting a filter analysis from the Korea Testing and Research Institute (KATR), it was found that Geoen’s antiviral filter not only blocks viruses, but also kills pneumonia and food poisoning bacteria with an efficiency of 99.9% or more.

An official from Geoen said, “It can block the transmission of pathogens through the air by virus-infected patients or pneumonia patients. In addition, Geoen’s filter is It does not contain any particles and contains no allergens.”
