On the 18th, a resident in their 30s who assaulted a security guard for blocking an acquaintance’s vehicle at the entrance to the apartment is investigated by the police.
According to the police on the 17th, the Gimpo Police Station in Gyeonggi-do is planning to summon A, a resident in the 30s of a Gimpo apartment, for assault on the 18th. It has been a week since two security guards were assaulted at the complex on the 11th.
A police official said, “It was initially planned to investigate around the beginning of this week, but Mr. A decided to postpone the attendance date and investigate on the 18th for reasons such as appointment of a lawyer.
Mr. A is accused of hitting the faces of security guards B (60) and C (58) in an apartment in Janggi-dong, Gimpo around 11:40 pm on the 11th.
At that time, Mr. A got out of the car and was assaulted when an acquaintance car in the passenger seat tried to enter through the rear door, but the barrier did not open.
The apartment entrance closed circuit (CC) TV secured by the police contained scenes in which Mr. A threw a guard chair and swear words to Mr. B. He spit on Mr. B and beaten his face and side. Mr. A’s assault caused Mr. B’s ribs to be damaged. Guard C, too, was hit by a fist swung by Mr. A and broke his nose. An acquaintance who was in the vehicle with him was held back, but the assault continued. At that time, it was found that Mr. A was in a drunk state.
Mr. A’s assault stopped only after the police, who were reported, were dispatched. However, the police did not arrest Mr. A as a current criminal or file a criminal charge at the scene. The reason is that it did not meet the requirements, such as the end of the situation. Some voices point out the police’s primary response.
The police plan to decide whether to apply for an arrest warrant after investigating the degree and motive of the assault against Mr. A. As Mr. A insists on bilateral assault, he plans to investigate this part as well.
